Sporlan began as the Spoehrer-Lange Company on New Year’s Day, 1934, in Missouri — founded by engineers Harold Lange and Hermann Spoehrer. They introduced revolutionary motor-controlled valves for refrigeration, laying the groundwork for modern HVACR controls. The company rebranded as Sporlan Valve Company in 1944.
