Membrane Compressed Air Dryer

Dew point temperatures from -40°F (-40°C) or below to +50°F (+10°C)

Advancements in design allow membrane technology to efficiently dehydrate compressed air. Versatile, environmentally and user-friendly, membrane dryers are the ideal solution for low flow and point of use applications.

Membrane gas separation technology, used for years to generate nitrogen, is now widely used for compressed air drying. Operation is simple and reliable: compressed air, saturated with water vapor, flows through a bundle of tube-shaped membranes (similar to tiny drinking straws). Water vapor, along with a fraction of the compressed air used to sweep the vapor out, passes through the membrane walls. Dry air then exits the tube bundle for downstream use.

As long as the dried air is not exposed to temperatures below the dew point temperature produced by the dryer, no troublesome liquid water will form in the air system.

Simplicity

  • Lightweight — HMD Series dryers can be installed in air lines without additional support
  • Operates in any orientation, making it easy to integrate into existing equipment
  • Suitable for a wide variety of environments — high/low temperatures, corrosive or explosive atmospheres, indoors or outdoors
  • Housings made of ABS polymer and aluminum; stainless steel housings optional
  • Water is removed as a vapor — no liquid condensate to dispose of
